1. General Information
Welcome to United Cars Rent! By booking or using our services, you agree to the terms below, which explain how our rental works and what you can expect from us. These Terms are written for clarity and transparency and serve as a simplified version of the full rental contract signed at vehicle pickup.
2. Rental Eligibility
To rent a vehicle, the renter must meet the following eligibility criteria:
Minimum Age: 21 years (some premium or luxury vehicles may require 25+).
Driving Experience: At least one year of licensed driving experience.
License: A valid driver’s license accepted in Georgia. Licenses not in Latin or Cyrillic script require an International Driving Permit or certified Georgian translation.
Required Documents: Passport or national ID and driver’s license must be presented at pickup.
Additional Drivers: Must be present during pickup and listed on the rental contract before driving.
3. Booking, Payment, and Deposit
Bookings may be made online, by phone, or in person at our Tbilisi or Batumi offices. Payments are accepted in Georgian Lari (GEL), US dollars or Euro in cash, or bank transfer.
Most vehicle categories are available without a mandatory deposit. However, depending on vehicle class, rental duration, and insurance option, a refundable security deposit may apply - it varies $100–300 depending on vehicle category . The deposit serves as a guarantee against potential damage, late return, or traffic fines and is released upon satisfactory inspection of the vehicle at return.
Free cancellation is available up to 24 hours before pickup. For cancellations made later or for no-shows, a one-day rental charge may apply.
Late returns beyond two hours are charged as an additional rental day. Early returns are partially refundable: The Renter is entitled to a refund of 50% of the remaining rental amount if notice is given at least two days prior to the intended return date. Extensions can be arranged by contacting our customer service team prior to the original return time.
4. Insurance and Liability
Every vehicle rental includes standard insurance coverage under Georgian law. Additional insurance upgrades are available at the time of booking or pickup.
Third-Party Liability (TPL): Covers damage to other persons or property up to the insurer’s limit.
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW): Covers accidental damage to the rental vehicle, subject to a deductible (typically $100–300).
Theft Protection: Covers theft of the vehicle when a valid police report is provided.
Exclusions apply to tires, glass, underbody, interior, lost keys, wrong fuel use, smoking damage, gross negligence, and driving under the influence. Insurance does not cover unauthorized drivers or use on unpaved or prohibited roads.
Optional Full Coverage is available for most vehicles and reduces or eliminates the deductible. Details and prices can be confirmed during booking.
5. Vehicle Pickup and Return
Vehicles are thoroughly cleaned and inspected prior to delivery. A joint inspection form and photos will document the vehicle’s condition at pickup. The renter is responsible for reviewing and confirming this report.
At return, vehicles should be delivered in similar condition with the same fuel level (at least ¼ of the tank). Missing fuel is charged at local market rates plus a refueling fee. Smoking is strictly prohibited in all vehicles; violations incur a $200 cleaning fee.
6. Driving Rules in Georgia
Renter and authorized drivers must comply with all Georgian traffic regulations. Key rules include the following:
Speed Limits: 60 km/h (city), 90 km/h (rural), 110 km/h (highway).
Seatbelts: Mandatory for all occupants.
Headlights: Must remain on at all times.
Alcohol Limit: 0.3‰ maximum.
Mobile Phones: Hands-free devices only.
Road Usage: Vehicles are intended for paved public roads only.
Prohibited Areas: Occupied territories (Abkhazia, South Ossetia), closed military zones, and dangerous mountain passes.
7. Breakdown and Emergency Assistance
United Cars Rent provides 24/7 roadside assistance throughout Georgia. Services include towing, battery jump-start, tire replacement, lockout support, and emergency fuel delivery.
In the event of an accident, immediately contact the Georgian emergency number (112) and notify our support line. A police report and photos are required for insurance processing.
8. Renter Responsibilities
The renter is responsible for the following obligations during the rental period:
Observing all traffic laws and maintaining the vehicle responsibly.
Paying any traffic or parking fines incurred during the rental.
Reporting any damage, accident, or loss to the company immediately.
Returning all keys, documents, and accessories issued with the vehicle.
Avoiding use of the vehicle for commercial, racing, or towing purposes.
9. Privacy and Data Protection
United Cars Rent collects personal information (such as name, contact details, identification, and payment data) only for legitimate business purposes, including booking confirmation, customer support, insurance compliance, and payment security.
All personal data is processed in accordance with the Law of Georgia on Personal Data Protection and, for EU citizens, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Data may be shared only with authorized partners such as insurers and law enforcement when required by law.
10. Dispute Resolution and Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Georgia. Any disputes will first be addressed amicably between the parties. If a resolution cannot be reached, the case shall fall under the jurisdiction of Georgian courts.
